When you sign up for an alphabet blogging challenge and find yourself stuck at a particularly difficult letter, who do you turn to for help? Why, you turn the pages of your child’s A-B-C book, of course!

It’s no secret how much we try to encourage early reading to the daughter. The partner and I love books and we want to make sure that same passion is passed on to the daughter, as early as possible. Today, she wakes us up with a book in her hand, asking us to read to her. Once we take the book from her she lies down beside us and wait for the book to be read.

I would like to share with you what has become of the library that the partner and I started for our daughter when she was probably four months or so. Her library line up also have a few classic books that have been loved by many children over the years:

Manneko Hiyou-chan (Goodreads|Book Depository|Amazon)
Will try to link up once I have found them. Haha. And in case you were wondering, I bought them since I work in a Japanese company (and have already passed a low level language proficiency exam – hooray), so there.

*Except for The Book of the Sandman, these books are all board books. You know how babies can be, chewing on everything they get their hands on. I would recommend using one when introducing your baby to books. Of course, now, the daughter has learned not to chew on her books and instead browses through or gives it to us to read.

*Most of the books in the daughter’s library were order over at The Book Depository. I have never tried Amazon, for shipping reasons. Unfortunately, it takes TBD about a month to get the books delivered although the local post office is to blame here but I guarantee that they will be delivered, especially here in the Philippines. You can read about my “success” stories here and here. Oh, and they delivery FOR FREE all over the world, too!

Oh and I’m sharing this post to the daughter’s godparents, too, so they’d have an idea how our library is taking form right now. *cough* We accept *donations* all year round.
