Disclosure: I was given a free pair of Attipas shoes in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My daughter loves walking; I realized that when she was around 12 months old and starting to take a few steps on her own.

As a first time parent, I read a lot of online resources on child-rearing because, after all, you only really have one shot at it, right? Mistakes are forgivable, of course, but as much as possible I’m pretty sure all parents would agree with me that we would want to give it our best the first time around. (There might not be a second chance, too.)

I’ve read a lot that going barefoot is often the best and most natural way when it comes to walking. Even some runners go barefoot because that’s just how our feet our designed in the first place. While barefoot walking is fine for infants and toddlers inside the house, this could pose a problem outside the streets. Surely, you would not want to get their dainty little feet exposed to hazards, right? But then, finding the right shoes for your little ones can be pretty hard as well.

ignore those dirty soles - they're being tested!

Yeah, I’m sure many of you would protest but when you have a toddler, there are actually certain types of shoes that you would want to stay away from. I’m referring to those kinds that have hard soles that don’t allow the feet to move around freely. While they will have to have a footwear of some sort, you would want to make sure that it is as close to barefoot walking as it could possibly get.

Enter Attipas.

The truth is that I have never heard of this line of baby shoes until a group of mommy bloggers introduced me to it. Who could say no to the chance of a free item when it brings benefits to your little one?

Attipas was designed with five scientific points in mind: CONVENIENCE, BREATHABILITY, BIG TOE BOX, SAFETY and LIGHTWEIGHT AND FLEXIBILITY.

You can easily mistake Attipas shoes for socks but they are so much more than that. The soles are made of rubber so you can be sure that even if it gets wet, it can dry up easily and the holes makes that job get done faster. The upper portion of the shoes is made up of cloth similar to those used in socks making it light and easy for the feet and ankles to maneuver. When your toddler is just learning to walk, it is best to allow them the freedom of movement for easy navigation. Plus, the rubber soles are non-slip so you don’t have to worry about them slipping or falling.

haha don't worry - she and her dad are just playing around

I found these toddler shoes funny-looking, too, like McDonalds shoes but that’s probably because the pair we got were slightly bigger for my daughter’s feet. But even with just-right fitting shoes, you can be sure that their little toes have a lot of room to wiggle around. Do you remember the discomfort at your toes while wearing your sexy high-heeled shoes? All of your body’s weight are pushed into your toes which are cramped into that little pointy space of your shoes – surely, you would not want your toddler to experience the same thing, right?

And for moms who are very particular about the materials being used in the items that their kids use, don’t fret, Attipas shoes are made from non-hazardous materials that have passed international safety standards. Say no to adhesives or formaldehyde on your baby’s items!

Is there anything more to convince you how great this footwear is?

Oh yeah. My daughter enjoyed her new pair so much, she keeps on stomping her feet around. I guess she does feel really comfortable wearing them. Just perfect for walking around in parks with huge lawns or even in concrete roads.
